Welcome to The Oxford Arms
Fred, Sadie & Molly Hawkins welcome you to The Oxford Arms, in Kington, Herefordshire
The Oxford Arms is nestled in Kington, a small peaceful town, in rural Herefordshire, it dates, in parts back to the 17th Century, it is mainly a timber frame and stone building that has been added to over the years and in Victorian times the front façade was added. There is still a lot of timber inside however which gives you a real feel for its age. The Oxford Arms is the perfect place to enjoy wholesome home-made traditional pub food in a warm welcoming atmosphere. Drinkers and diners can choose to sit in our more traditional homely pub bar, our warm more comfortable lounge bar, or our cozy dining room.
You will always be made welcome at The Oxford Arms by our friendly staff whether you are coming in for a meal in the week or a traditional Sunday lunch or if you just want to sit by our fires on a cold day and read the papers with a pint of one our Herefordshire brewed real ales, you are always welcome.
The Oxford Arms at its height was ‘the Principle Inn’ of the area and was very grand. It has sadly in the more recent years been ‘let go’ with quite a few of those years being closed. When we looked at The Oxford Arms with a view to buying it, we fell in love with her. We managed to buy her and move in February 2008. The Oxford Arms is an old lady, a little bit tired, but with time and some T.L.C., we are starting to put some life back into the old girl to restore her grandeur. The Oxford Arms has always felt right for us and always makes us feel good about being here, we want you to feel the warm welcoming atmosphere that is present within this 17th Century coaching Inn.
We aim to provide you with great food and local cask ales, comfortable accommodation and friendly efficient service.
